Weddings and Events

A highly accomplished solo player with over a decade of experience of playing at private and corporate events, Rachel is certain to provide the perfect music to accompany your special occasion. Request particular tunes or stick with the 'piper's choice' to tailor the music to your event. See below for a list of commonly requested tunes.

For more details on hiring Rachel for you wedding, see here.

Add some traditional flair to your wedding, party, Burns supper or other special event with the sound of the pipes.

As well as the great highland bagpipes, Rachel also plays the much quieter Scottish smallpipes. These beautiful bellows-blown pipes can provide a mellow and ethereal atmosphere in a variety of settings, and are particularly suited to providing background music with a Scottish flavour. Similarly, Rachel also can also perform on the low whistle, which has a gentle, flute-like sound and can perform a repertoire of traditional Scottish/Irish music as well as classical and pop covers. If you would like to book Rachel to play the smallpipes or whistles in venues where they would require amplification, she can also provide her own PA equipment.

Rachel is also available to hire for funerals and her repertoire includes a selection of traditional funeral marches and airs (see list below). 50% of the fee charged for funerals will be donated to Alzheimers Scotland.

For highland bagpipe bookings, Rachel wears a "No. 2" uniform in the ancient Gordon tartan (dark green and blue kilt, shirt and tie, waistcoat and, weather dependent, Argyll jacket), as shown in the photo in the above. If you would prefer the "No. 1" uniform, which includes tunic, plaid and feather hat, this can be worn for an additional fee.
